Solar Energy Collaboration for More Efficient and Sustainable Operations

Surabaya, February 16, 2026 – PT Steel Pipe Industry of Indonesia Tbk (SPINDO) has officially signed a strategic partnership with iForte Energi Nusantara, a renewable energy solutions provider. iForte Energi's track record as one of Indonesia's largest solar power developers — backed by the infrastructure and technological capabilities of parent companies Protelindo and iForte — forms a critical foundation for delivering an integrated, efficient, and sustainable clean energy solution for SPINDO.

The agreement covers the implementation of rooftop solar for SPINDO Plant/Unit 5 and a hybrid solar system for SPINDO Plant/Unit 7. iForte Energi is building a rooftop solar installation at Plant/Unit 5 with a capacity of 904 kWp. Plant/Unit 7, meanwhile, will be equipped with a hybrid system of 5.4 MWp, paired with a 1 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) to enhance supply stability and optimization — making it the largest hybrid rooftop solar system in Java's manufacturing sector. Combined, the two facilities are capable of generating 9,431.31 MWh of electricity annually and reducing carbon emissions by up to 8,488 tons of CO₂ — equivalent to planting 188,626 trees each year. The scale and impact establish the SPINDO–iForte Energi project as one of the most significant rooftop solar initiatives in Java's manufacturing sector.

At the same event, SPINDO and iForte Energi also inaugurated solar installations already in operation at Plant/Unit 1, 2, and 3, with a combined production capacity of 2.1 MWp per year. These installations contribute to a reduction of 2,806 tons of CO₂ in emissions annually, equivalent to planting 62,356 trees. The inauguration underscores the continuity of the collaboration and both companies' long-term commitment to rolling out green energy progressively — but at scale — across all of SPINDO's facilities.
