GRAND INDONESIA AND IFORTE ENERGI OFFICIALLY LAUNCH JAKARTA'S LARGEST SOLAR POWER HUB

A Strategic Step Toward a Greener, More Sustainable City

Jakarta, September 24, 2025 – Grand Indonesia, one of Jakarta's premier shopping and lifestyle destinations, today announced a strategic collaboration with iForte Energi Nusantara to launch Central Jakarta's largest solar power hub, integrated within the Grand Indonesia complex. The initiative marks a long-term commitment by both parties to advancing the capital's transformation into a greener, more sustainable city.

While not Jakarta's first solar installation, it is the largest and most fully integrated within the city center. With a capacity of 1.4 MWp across 6,812 sqm, the installation will generate 1.7 million kWh of electricity annually and cut carbon emissions by more than 1,500 tons of CO₂ — equivalent to planting 52,960 trees. Beyond serving as an alternative energy source, the project reflects a shared commitment to urban transformation that doesn't compromise on aesthetics, commercial function, or stakeholder comfort. Grand Indonesia and iForte Energi hope the project will set a benchmark for sustainable energy adoption across Jakarta's commercial districts.

Held under the theme "Grand Indonesia Green Movement: Inaugurating Jakarta's Largest Solar Power Hub," the launch took place on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Menara BCA, 43rd Floor, Jl. MH Thamrin No. 1, Central Jakarta.

The event brought together key figures and stakeholders from Indonesia's renewable energy sector, including:

  • Mr. Mohamad Iwan, President Director, iForte Energi Nusantara
  • Ms. Annisa Hazarini, Head of Corporate Communications, Grand Indonesia
  • Ms. Andriah Feby Misna, S.T., M.T., M.Sc., Director of New and Renewable Energy
  • Mr. Ir. Andono Warih, MSc, Head of Energy, DKI Jakarta Provincial Department of Manpower, Transmigration and Energy
  • Mr. Arya Rezavidi, M.EE., Ph.D., Secretary General, MASKEEI (Indonesian Society for Energy Conservation and Efficiency)
  • Mr. Ir. Ignesjz Kemalawarta, MBA, Chairman, Green Building Council Indonesia

Mohamad Iwan, President Director of iForte Energi Nusantara, noted that the collaboration reflects a cross-sector commitment to driving energy transformation in urban environments. "We believe smart, sustainable energy infrastructure is foundational to the cities of the future. This project is a concrete step toward a system that is both energy-efficient and environmentally responsible," he said.

As technical partner, iForte delivers end-to-end solutions spanning planning through maintenance, with clean energy capacity across its projects now reaching 100 MWp installed and in progress. "With the potential to cut more than 114,975 tons of CO₂ emissions, this is a tangible contribution to the city's decarbonization targets. We're proud to deliver technology with a direct impact on both environment and community," he added.

Annisa Hazarini, Head of Corporate Communications at Grand Indonesia, welcomed the initiative as a concrete expression of the company's commitment to environmental sustainability. "As one of Jakarta's largest shopping destinations, we see it as our responsibility to contribute to emissions reduction and energy efficiency. This project reflects Grand Indonesia's strategic direction toward renewable energy," she said.

She added that solar installation at this scale not only reduces reliance on conventional energy but reinforces Grand Indonesia's position as a business focused on a sustainable future. "We hope this initiative inspires other players in the property and retail sectors to take an active role in building a cleaner, more sustainable environment," Annisa said.

Beyond its contribution to carbon emissions reduction in Jakarta, the initiative aims to inspire other industry players to take concrete steps toward the transition to renewable energy. Through this collaboration, Grand Indonesia and iForte send a clear message: sustainability is not merely an option, but a strategic imperative for building a better future — one that begins with small steps and a shared, sustained commitment to a greener environment.
